A 15-year-old boy simply identified as Ekine, who was reported missing on August 7, 2023, has been found dead in a river around Mgbuodohia village in Rumuolumeni community, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to Today FM, the late Ekine, who lived in Mile 2, Diobu, Port Harcourt, was reported missing to the police by his parents.
A source told The Forward News that a corpse was found floating on the river by a boat driver, and the parents of the teenager have confirmed that it was that of their missing son.
Rivers State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident, said the boy has been buried as his parents showed no interest in the case being investigated.
