EDEMA CONDEMNS ATTITUDE OF INDIVIDUALS IN DISPOSING OF WASTE IN DELTA

The Chairman Delta State Waste Management Board Hon Matthew Mofe Edema has condemned the attitude of individuals in the disposal of waste across the state.

Speaking With The Forward News Media in his Asaba office , said our people are always form the habit of cutting corners and it very bad.

He said ” the attitude of individuals in the disposal of waste is terrible and a lot of people don’t patronize the PSP which the board partner with”.

He maintained that deltans should patronize PSP, the authorized body that is in partnership with the waste management board.

According to him, in a street of 50 houses only 2 to 3 compound will patronize PSP at the end our environment will be littered because they want to boycott normality.

He disclosed that PSP is under the waste management board and they have splitted into zones and each zone go about its business of waste evacuation been control by waste management board and the waste will be taken to dump site allocated in the area of operation.

Edema noted that the board collaborate with Local Government, Capital Territory, Ministry of Environment, Tasks force in charge of environment.

He added that a Royal decree was introduced and the Asagba of Asaba is aware, stating that enforcement is key thing for penalty and any household that fails to comply will be taken to court.

He appealed to deltans to corporate with PSP and other agencies under the waste management board to make our environment clean.

Our governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori vision towards the cleaner environment is what deltans should emulate and he has strengthen our function with cash, our job is being carried out as at when due, Hon Edema added.

He said the Board had remained committed to regular evacuation of waste from unauthorized spots in Asaba, Agbor, Warri, Uvwie, Sapele and other urban towns and cities of the state, in line with the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration.
